Mary Birrer is a NJ Audubon Teacher Naturalist at Lorrimer Sanctuary. Her interest in the environment stemmed from early summer camp experiences and led her to be an outdoor educator across the east coast before settling at Lorrimer. Mary's ecology background and curiosity about the natural world means that she is always looking to learn (and teach!) about the connections between critters and their habitats.
Presentation Description:
Learn about gardening with birds in mind during this hour-long presentation. Native birds, from tiny wrens and warblers to magnificent hawks and falcons, are some of our most beloved wildlife. Find out more about NJ's incredibly diverse bird species and how to attract them to your outdoor spaces by providing plants (and through them, insects) that are important for supporting the local ecosystem.
Saddle River Garden Club will be our guests for this presentation.
This program will take place at the usual Garden Club Meeting location of 400 Warren Ave, Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ 07423 (The Ho-Ho-Kus Community Church).
